After several years away, we’re bringing back this great community tradition!.

About

Since 1974, our festival has brought Southside Virginia together for great chicken, live music, cold drinks, and candid conversations between neighbors and leaders. It’s a single, down-home gathering where you can enjoy a hearty meal and a good band while rubbing elbows with current and would-be elected officials in a relaxed, small-town setting.

Our motto says it best: “All the chicken and politick’n you can stomach!” The vibe is simple—good food, good music, and good company—all in one place.

Over the years, our guest list has read like a Virginia Political Hall of Fame—governors and gubernatorial candidates Miles E. Godwin (1974), John Dalton (1976 & 77), Chuck Robb (1982), Doug Wilder (1990), and Terry McAuliffe (2010); congressional leaders and candidates Harry F. Byrd Jr. (1974), Oliver North (1994), Mark Warner (2001), Dave Brat (2016, 2018), and Abigail Spanberger (2018); plus dozens of statewide candidates, cabinet secretaries, legislators, and hundreds of local officials—all sharing the same tables as friends and families from across the region.

Tickets for the 2025 Crewe Chicken Festival are now available for purchase!

Tickets must be purchased online. Prices are as follows:

Early bird (through September 30, 2025): $35 each

Standard: $40 each

Tickets include live music, beer and wine (for those 21 and older), non-alcoholic drinks, and one amazing chicken dinner (chicken quarter, baked beans, coleslaw, apple sauce, and a roll).

NOTE: Please don’t be confused by the “Blackstone Chamber of Commerce” heading on the ticket site. The Blackstone Chamber is generously serving as our fiscal sponsor, allowing us to use a platform that eliminates all fees associated with ticketing. All proceeds and donations go directly to the Town of Crewe for our downtown efforts.
